Karaoke, a kind of major entertainment for urbanites in nightlife, now
has occupied many Nanning citizens' daytime as well.

Lots of KTV rooms in Nanning have launched various attractive schemes
about "heavy discount in daytime" to challenge the long and hot summer.
These places have obviously become the top destination for large numbers
of high school and college students.

During the summer vacation, Ban Yuzhi, a student of Guangxi College of
Education, undertakes a part-time job in the morning, while in the
afternoon she often kills time in KTV rooms with some classmates for
several hours.

She said they would have to spend at least 300-400 yuan per hour at
night, but only 6 yuan in the day.

When entering the well-known Baidile KTV in Nanning, all kinds of
singing, popular or classical, will jam your ears all of a sudden. This
top-graded entertainment place is always overcrowded now at daytime, the
same as in the evening.

"It is much safer for us to come out at daytime than at night, so our
parents also have no worries about us relaxing here," said another
student Gu Ling. "And we can afford the cheap price in the day. It's very
common that I often meet many classmates in the same KTV."

A manager of an entertainment company points out that with the city's
diversified activities and development, there is currently an increasing
number of office employees working at different times, resulting in the
changes of business hours of many entertainment places.
